The Kutwal Lake Trek in Haramosh Valley is one of the most stunning yet lesser-known treks in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Located near Skardu, this trek takes adventurers through remote villages, lush meadows, and rugged mountain terrain to reach the mesmerizing Kutwal Lake (also called Kutwal Sar or Haramosh Lake), situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 ft).
The lake is surrounded by towering peaks, including Haramosh Peak (7,409m), Laila Peak (6,986m), and Malubiting (7,458m), making it a paradise for trekkers and photographers.

Itinerary
Departure point: Departure from Lahore / Islamabad
- Breakfast at Balakot, followed by a visit to Dassu and Besham.
- Tea & lunch break at Chilas.
- Reach Gilgit by 5:00 pm for check-in.
- Overnight stay in Gilgit.
- If Naran is open, we will take the scenic Babusar Top road.
Drive (1.5 hrs) from Gilgit or (2.5 hrs) from Skardu to Sassi Village (starting point).
Begin trekking towards Korophon (3-4 hrs), a scenic village with terraced fields.
Overnight camping near Kutwalgah.
Steep climb towards Kutwal Lake (4,200m).
The lake is turquoise-blue, fed by glacial meltwater, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Explore & camp by the lake.
Optional hike to nearby viewpoints for panoramic views of Haramosh & Malubiting peaks.
Photography, relaxation, and soaking in the pristine beauty.
Second night at Kutwal Lake.
Descend back to Kutwalgah for an easier trekking day.
Return trek to Sassi Village.
Celebrate with locals and experience Balti hospitality.
Drive back to Skardu, visit Kharpocho Fort or Sadpara Lake if time permits.

This day is allocated for any potential delays in case the domestic flight does not operate the previous day. Our guests will depart early morning from Gilgit to Islamabad which can take up to ten hours. However it will be a free day in case the participants make it to Islamabad on the domestic flight. This time can be utilized for sightseeing in Islamabad.
